Hello and Welcome

Starting therapy and reaching out for support can be a big move. It can also be an empowering way to prioritize yourself and begin making meaningful change in your life. Through our work together, clients often become more present, honest, and engaged in their lives and relationships. Many experience meaningful mindset shifts, leading to a greater sense of authenticity and alignment.

Background

I’ve been working in the mental health field since March 2020, and as a therapist since June 2022, with experience in community mental health, substance use recovery, and group practice settings. Prior to practicing therapy, I worked in higher education, supporting students in career development, as well as employee development and human resources. These experiences enable me to approach therapy with a broad perspective, grounded in understanding the interconnectedness of personal growth, career, and relationships.

I offer a supportive environment where you can explore and work through your experiences, perspectives, and emotions. My approach is open, collaborative, and exploratory, ideal for those who value a partnership in their therapeutic journey. I thrive with clients who are curious and eager to delve into aspects of themselves to make meaningful changes toward the life they envision.

My approach and training is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness and compassion-focused approaches. I strive to be flexible and responsive based on your concerns and goals, whether they are specific or broad. As someone navigating my own healing journey—dealing with anxiety, depression, career balance, imposter syndrome, people-pleasing, and self-confidence—I bring both lived experience and empathy into our work together. If my approach resonates with you, I would be glad to connect and discuss how we can work together toward meaningful change.

A few fun things (which may help you decide if we're a fit)

  • My therapist has a therapist.

  • Things that bring me joy: nature, dog walks, canoeing, camping, music, collecting vinyl records, gardening, exploring spirituality, antiquing, coffee, and thinking about being a future black cat owner.

  • Humor is tool I rely on a LOT in therapy, and I find laughter can be healing and helpful. I'm also a visual processor and communicator, and this comes through in sessions.

  • My spouse and I live with two senior dogs (a Yorkie-Chihuahua and a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen rescue) and small flock of backyard chickens, who are named after Buffy the Vampire Slayer characters.
